Thesecondopinion, provided by the Regional Cancer Foundation, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the community since 1974. The mission of thesecondopinion is to provide multidisciplinary second opinions to adults in California who have been diagnosed with new or recurring cancer.
Thesecondopinion provides a unique service not duplicated by any other agency. Our approach empowers patients and family members because, by receiving clarity of their diagnosis and treatment options, patients have the information necessary to manage their disease, improve their well-being, and to face potentially difficult choices. Often we make suggestions that enhance treatment choices or even confirm the benefits of an existing treatment course.
For more than three decades thesecondopinion has made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of cancer patients and their families by providing clarity, compassion and choices in the face of an overwhelming situation.
